Hosted by the Georgia Forestry Foundation, and sponsored by Georgia Power, this event will feature a diverse group of leading forestry and environmentally-focused non-profits, including Georgia Grown, Georgia Forestry Commission, Georgia Department of Natural Resources, Georgia Conservancy, Chattahoochee Nature Center, Trust for Public Land, Birds Georgia, and Fernbank Science Museum. Walking and biking to the Earth Day Celebration is encouraged. For those arriving by car, parking is suggested on Level 3 of Ponce City Market’s Main Parking Deck, accessible via the ramp adjacent to Pancake Social.

Opened in 2014, Ponce City Market was designed with sustainability in mind and remains committed to green practices throughout the property. The destination has earned numerous accolades, including LEED Gold Certification (LEED Gold Core & Shell, LEED for Homes, LEED Gold CI - Jamestown Office), the Urban Land Institute's Global Award for Excellence, BOMA International TOBY Award, PEDS’ Golden Shoe Award, and ULI Atlanta’s Project of the Year. The project showcases Jamestown’s vision to take a 100-year-old building and make it green.

With a focus on building community connections, Ponce City Market incorporates a pedestrian network, public green spaces, and access to the Atlanta Beltline corridor – all within the revitalized historic property. The use of alternative transportation methods is encouraged through 530+ bike parking spaces, direct access to Atlanta's Beltline trail, a complimentary shuttle to and from MARTA for tenants and employees, on-site Zipcars, and designated rideshare pickup and drop-off locations.

In April 2024, Ponce City Market debuted 619 Ponce, Atlanta’s first Georgia-grown mass timber building utilizing a regional supply chain. The building achieved Fitwel certification and LEEDv4 BD+C Core & Shell Gold certification in 2025. 619 Ponce comprises four stories and includes 89,000 square feet of office space – fully leased by Sage, the leader in accounting, financial, HR, and payroll technology for small and mid-sized businesses (SMBs) – and retail space housing Pottery Barn and Van Leeuwen. In addition to outdoor space on every level, the building’s biophilic design features natural wood columns and ceilings and floor-to-ceiling windows with operable panels.

In 2020, Jamestown formalized a portfolio-wide commitment to achieve net zero operational carbon emissions by 2050, alongside a 50% reduction in water use intensity and a 75% waste diversion rate from a 2014 baseline. As part of its emissions pathway, Jamestown targets a 50% reduction in Scope one and two greenhouse gas emissions and in energy use intensity from a 2018 baseline by 2030.

About The Georgia Forestry Foundation – The Georgia Forestry Foundation (GFF) was founded in 1989 to support the long-term sustainability of the state’s working forests, which cover nearly two thirds of the land area in the state. GFF seeks to connect every Georgian to the state’s forests by fostering connections to the stewards of our forestland. As the Number One Forestry State in the Nation, Georgia’s managed forests are an essential part of the economic and environmental ecosystems of our state. Each day, Georgians rely on those forests for their livelihood, the products they use, the air we breathe, and the water we drink. Together we have an opportunity to be stewards of this precious resource and to keep Georgia's forests working for generations to come.
