WASHINGTON, D.C., March 21, 2024 –– Jamestown, a design-focused real estate investment and management firm, today announced a wave of new leasing activity at America’s Square, an office complex located one block from the U.S. Capitol. The two new office leases total nearly 40,000 square feet and add to the property’s tenancy, which already includes the headquarters of global law firm Jones Day and the Washington, D.C. offices of Comcast Corporation.

The American Council of Life Insurers (ACLI), a lobbying and trade group for the life insurance industry, signed a lease for an approximately 27,000-square-foot office comprising the entire top floor of the 10-story 300 New Jersey Avenue. In the same building, ClearPath, a nonprofit organization focused on clean energy policy, signed a lease for an approximately 12,000-square-foot office.

“People want to work in connected and compelling places,” said Mark Witschorik, Head of Portfolio Management, North America, at Jamestown. “With proximity to the National Mall and design that brings together historic and innovative architecture, America’s Square provides a unique offering in the heart of D.C.”

America’s Square is comprised of two connected buildings: 51 Louisiana Avenue and 300 New Jersey Avenue. 51 Louisiana Avenue is a historic building originally constructed in 1935, featuring a beautiful and classic limestone façade, a dramatic two-story marble lobby with Greek columns. 300 New Jersey Avenue, built in 2009, is a bold and innovative glass-and-steel building designed by internationally acclaimed architect Lord Richard Rogers and is connected to 51 Louisiana Avenue via a dramatic, 17,000-square-foot glass atrium.

The property offers views of the Capitol dome and other city landmarks and is centrally located among commuter transportation hubs, as well as hotels, shopping, and dining. Sustainably designed, America's Square holds a LEED Gold Core and Shell certification from the 2010 construction of 300 New Jersey. Jamestown has taken an efficiency-first approach to decarbonization of this historic building and is implementing a strategic decarbonization roadmap, which includes energy efficiency projects to improve building performance.
