ATLANTA, GA (January 20, 2026) –– Atlanta’s Ponce City Market announces Mood Fabrics, the fabric destination known as the official fabric supplier for the Emmy Award-winning show, “Project Runway,” is set to open a first-of-its-kind showroom at the community hub spring 2026.

Founded in 1991 by Jack Sauma in New York City’s Garment District, Mood Fabrics has built a reputation for itself as a destination for designer materials and professional supplies. In 2004, Mood Fabrics rose to international fame as the official fabric supplier for “Project Runway,” making the phrase "Thank you, Mood!" a decades-old household term for fashion lovers everywhere.

In its next chapter at Ponce City Market, the brand will offer a modernized shopping experience with a showroom featuring around 8,000 fabric samples for people to touch, feel, and pair with other fabrics and sewing notions (buttons, zippers, threads, and more). Designed by Pablo de Miguel Architect, the approximately 1,500-square-foot space will be anchored by a large fabric worktable, where customers can mix and match different elements while planning their project. Fabric can then be easily ordered via a QR code for in-store pick-up or home delivery with quick shipping. Professional supplies ranging from trimmings, buttons, and thread to pattern paper, draping tape, and more will be available for purchase in store as well.

The location will serve as a community space for creatives, hosting hands-on curated workshops ranging from couture sewing techniques to modern garment construction; expert-led industry seminars; and community meet-ups for local makers to share, collaborate, and inspire one another. The space will offer a tactile, high-energy shopping experience that empowers the Atlanta community to "make it work."

“Atlanta is a city vibrating with creative energy,” said Eric Sauma, co-owner of Mood Fabrics. “We aren't just opening a store; we are building a home for the city's makers. With the retail landscape changing, we felt it was the perfect time to bring the world-class quality and inspiration of Mood to the South. We couldn't imagine a better home than the iconic Ponce City Market.”

This year, Ponce City Market will also welcome several other businesses to the property, including Whiplash Comedy – a new comedy club offering nightly stand-up comedy shows, variety programming, comedy classes, a tight food menu, and a full beverage program, Terminal 26 – a Thai street food restaurant inspired by the country’s iconic floating markets, La Cueva – a cocktail lounge & listening room hidden on the second floor of the Central Food Hall, The Commodore – a barbershop offering traditional barbering services, Three Taverns Brew Terminal – a new brewery, distillery, and taproom with food from DAS BBQNoriFish – a sushi concept offering fresh seafood straight from Tokyo's Toyosu Fish Market, and Okiboru – a ramen and tsukemen spot recognized by MICHELIN as a Bib Gourmand award winner. These upcoming openings follow on the heels of several brands making their Atlanta debut at Ponce City Market in 2025, including Catbird – a Brooklyn-based demi-fine jewelry brand, Sézane – a French fashion brand, Necessary Purveyor – a new all-day restaurant and gourmet market, Olfactory NYC – a modern fine fragrance concept, and Van Leeuwen Ice Cream – the beloved ice cream brand offering French-style ice cream.
